Challenge!

This is how I am challenging myself to "get better".
Are you big enough to take it on too...

 

Spend one hour today,  just one full 60-minute hour,
totally focused on the wants, needs and interests of others...
and not yours.

 

In other words, with every person
you email, write to, talk with or think about,
ask yourself  -

What does this person want and need? 
How can I help them have it?

 

Then,  Act on it!

How to Win

Read the following quote first thing in the morning, midday, before each attempt at your craft, and just before bed. Observe what comes to mind when you read it and act on those thoughts...

What is the "something special" you can do?
What is the "extra effort" you can make?
What is unpleasant that you will work through?
What is the "hard grueling work" that you will endure until you get your "payoff"?

I wish I had seen this years ago. I would be much farther along in many ways. I'm giving me a personal makeover starting today... hope it helps you too.

Can You Be At One With You?

I remember years ago studying, experimenting, and practicing Yogic Meditation.

I practiced silencing the chatter around and within me and attempted to just "be",
just exist. At that time in life I was amazed at how time seemed to slow down
and space seemed to increase.

Every minute seemed to have more time in it.
I felt joined to the space around me.
I became more present and perceptive.
Others noticed and would say things like
"You really pay attention to everyone",
"You are a great listener and are so observant".
You are really focused on hearing and understanding".
"You are really sensitive to others".

That was and is a great time in life.

In the following video Jill Bolte Taylor, a Brain Scientist, describes some of
how "brain function" works and more relevant to YouBeingYou,
she talks about what she experienced during and after a stroke caused by a brain tumor.

Great news... Jill is not promoting having to experience a brain tumor to have a
higher level of presence and harmony with your Spiritual Beingness.

There is training and there are processes to help in becoming more Spiritually aware.

Thanks to Jill for such an extremely insightful presentation of her experience
and for a tremendous reminder of who we are,
"Spiritual beings having a human experience".

Everybody Is A STAR

I was in an overview session last week with Jim Hoyt, creator ot the STAR personality assessment workshop. Jim does a fantastic job of helping us to understand and adapt to differing personality types.

Every time I hear the acronymn STAR, it reminds me of one of the songs that shaped me as I was growing up... "Everybody Is A Star", by Sly and The Family Stone.

I thought you might enjoy the message and the music as I have. When I was growing up we needed every reminder of who we could be that we could get, and songs that raised our esteem, gave us hope, and courage, really helped.

It's All About You Being You

Why would an 11-day trip take 40 years to complete?

They started, with a vision of where they were going. They encountered unanticipated events and objects along the way. Those unknowns captured their time and attention. They became so absorbed with handling the things they did not anticipate that the destination went into hiding. Even the people calling them there couldn't move them. The obstacles were creating them. Of course the way out was to look at the mental picture or vision of the destination every day, several times a day. To holographically see and feel what the destination would be like. To feel the sensations, the emotions, to have the feelings of satisfaction, of having arrived. That feeling you get after settling down and completely relaxing after the last step of the journey is completed. To see and feel the reality of what the destination looked and felt like when first conceived. Beautiful. Pleasant. Satisfying. Better than imagined. When they did this solutions to unknowns came to them. Unanticipated obstacles were overcome. They could arrive.

All I wanted was to know if what I have would help them and if they wanted it.

But what if they say "no"? What if I catch them at a bad time? What if they think I'm crazy? Or stupid. What if they have a question I can't answer? What if they don't want to talk with someone they don't know?
Whew!
What if I remind them of a bad experience they had? Or someone they don't like. What if they don't have money? Or time. Or interest. What if I don't know what to do if they say "yes"?
Oh my! What if... what if... what if...?

What if I knew what they wanted? What if I knew I could help them have it? What if they agreed? Happily! Enthusiastically!

What would it mean to them if I help them have the solution that turns their 40-year trip into an 11-day trip?

What if I sincerely want to know what their wants and needs are, call them up and just ask? And let it be okay if we don't have a match; or I have imperfections; or I don't know what to do next; or I come up with a solution that is not what I pre-determined.

All I want is... to know if what I have will help them and if they want it.
